tonight's card is only marginally better than yesterday's sad excuse for first-class thoroughbred racing. here goes.
r2: brite betty. loved this one last time, but she broke in a tangle and never seemed to get untracked. she's drawn nicely and should go much better second time out with the experience under her belt. i look for her to show a lot of speed in here.
r3: tucked away. i've always liked the way this one moved, and she should be tough on the stretch out. she was too wide last time to have the necessary punch, but she should get a good trip sitting off the speed in here. don't take too short of a price as the candi queen and emerald dixie should both be tough.
r5: hawley lake. first tiem turf for this daughter of benton creek and there's no reason she shouldn't take to the truf. she's got a ton of speed in a race that isn't loaded with front enders and she's drawn neatly outside her primary pace rival. think tyler will have her winging on the engine and she could get very brave in front- the race she exits is extremely strong- 1-2 finisher both returned to win impressively- one on the raise, 'patty on the drop yesterday.
r6: regal queen. love aguirre and iggy on these type of horses- showed some speed and now gets the blinks for the money run? fast goat is the best horse, but she's had far too many chances to back. that's a foxy lady will take a ton of money, but she's no lockola to repeat her strong debut run. i'll take a chance on a big price filly.
r7: roberta's mango- old sharp horse remain in fine form for nakatani- should be able to rate and push on by inside the 16th pole.
bon chance.
